“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
~ Romans 8:28
Three years ago, our family abruptly moved from my home town of Zion, IL of 8 years, to start an outreach ministry in Maywood. During that time I wrote a brief blog post about the closeness our family of 6 had experienced with sharing one bedroom for over three months. It was quite the journey to say the least. Here’s some of the back story…

We wanted to buy another house but couldn’t find one in our budget. Then the bank informed us that we couldn’t get another loan until we sold one of our rental properties. We briefly looked for rentals but none were affordable or suitable for our family. The storm was alive, funds were low, hope was fading and our faith was being tested.

We could’ve postponed the assignment and gone back to the place we called home but we had faith that our blessing was on it’s way. And sure enough, the bank called to say that because we were purchasing a home with a far enough distance from our rental properties, they’ll make an exception and pre-approve us for a loan. Shortly after that, our realtor found a house in our budget that had not been listed yet. We closed on the home a month later.

I think it’s safe to say that most blessings usually come after a storm. If you’re going through a storm, don’t lose hope. Find the subtle moments of joy, focus on Jesus and keep on going until you see the light. God’s plan is bigger than any inconvenience or disappointment you’ll ever endure. #GodsGotThis #StayThePath
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
