There are so many people looking for hope during this trying time—whether it’s a new job opportunity because they’ve been laid off, good news from a doctor as they fight cancer, support for a single mom as she struggles to work and care for her children, or comfort for the person mourning the devastating loss of a loved one.
In the Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that the Lord has plans to prosper us, not harm us—plans to give us hope and future…This is a scripture we leave with everyone we reach at our monthly food distributions. We don’t want people to lose hope. When all hope is lost, anxiety and dangerous thoughts can enter the minds of the most vulnerable people.
So tonight, I want to encourage everyone who sees this post to please keep praying for and checking on your neighbors, friends and family.
If you are afraid of coming in close contact with others, perhaps you could write a note and leave it on their doorstep or car. Just try not to let a day go by without letting them know someone else cares about them. Remind them of this promise from God’s Word. Don’t wait. If it’s on your heart, do it now.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
